New Year, New Milestone: Credit Karma Membership Hits 35 Million

January 20, 2015

From everyone here at Credit Karma, a warm welcome into the New Year and best wishes for the twelve months ahead. As you work down your list of resolutions, maybe making plans to take control of your finances, we’ve got news that we’re excited to share with you.

Last week, Credit Karma crossed over the 35-million member mark. Which means that our platform now accounts for about 16 percent of the US population that has an open credit profile with one of the three major bureaus.

We’re incredibly proud of this. In 2014, Credit Karma doubled in membership for the fourth consecutive year. And the good news continues – at the end of December we expanded our platform to include credit scores and reports from another bureau, giving consumers frequent and free access to the majority of their key credit report data for the first time.

This addition is the latest in a series of firsts over Credit Karma’s history and furthers our endeavor to create a truly free, consumer-first product that helps our members take control of their financial health.

Credit Karma’s product has expanded quickly in the last few years to include credit monitoring, credit reports, personal finance management and smartphone apps for AndroidiOS and Windows Phone, all provided at no cost to our members. To keep up with this product roadmap our team has had to grow at a crazy pace. In 2013, it doubled. In 2014, it almost tripled. We expect this rapid growth to continue as we keep on fighting for fairness and transparency in consumer finance.

The best part of my day is seeing new comments from members telling us how much Credit Karma has changed their lives. We feel like this is just the beginning and throughout 2015 we will continue to layer in consumer-friendly services and features to help our members further simplify and improve their financial lives.

Happy New Year.
