Credit Karma: Now Serving 50 Million Members

We’re honored today at Credit Karma to announce that our product now serves more than 50 million members.

We’re grateful for everyone who trusts us to help them manage their financial lives. These 50 million members use Credit Karma to manage over $3 trillion in debt, which as a platform, gives us insight into more than one-fifth of all household debt in America. Credit Karma’s member base now accounts for 22 percent of all Americans with a credit profile.

We started this journey in 2007 because we thought that credit scores were too important to have to pay for and that managing your finances should be easier. Since our launch in March 2008, we’ve given out more than one billion free credit scores, staying true to our original promise to never charge our members a penny. We’ve expanded our product over the years to make Credit Karma about more than just credit scores: adding full credit reports, daily credit monitoring, financial account monitoring, full credit information from two of America’s major credit bureaus, as well as educational tools and content for our members.

Every day, we’re striving to improve. In 2015, we became the first site to offer people without enough credit history to generate a credit score full weekly access to their credit report and launched Direct Dispute™, which allows our members to dispute credit report errors directly from one of their credit reports. In 2016 we have our sights set on launching an improved mobile product and new services to allow our members to apply for financial products with greater confidence and transparency as well as growing out our educational offerings… among many other exciting plans.

Which makes this announcement even more meaningful. With each new person we add, we’re able to better serve all of our members, directly leveraging our growth to help us build better and more useful features for everyone that uses Credit Karma.

Best,
Kenneth Lin
