10 Comments | Twitter | |

Hey, everyone! Ready to meet another awesome member of the Credit Karma team?

This is Rob, another one of our talented infrastructure engineers! Rob is way too humble to admit this, but he has the nicest handwriting in the world. While most meeting notes look like scribbles, his look like they were typed up by a computer! It’s very impressive.

Scroll down to learn more about Rob!

The Interview

What’s your title at Credit Karma?
Sr. Infrastructure Software Engineer

Describe in 25 words or less what you do.
Anything and everything related to making sure our site is available and snappy for our members.

How long have you worked at CK?
3 years in March!

What’s your favorite thing about working at CK?
Working with motivated, good-natured folks & providing a great service to our members.

What’s your favorite snack in the CK kitchen?
Yogurt & pretzels (not together, though…)

What is something your coworkers probably don’t know about you?
I’m red/green colorblind and have no depth perception. See you out on the road!

What was your worst subject in elementary school?
I recall getting a bad grade for making my periods “.” too big in 2nd grade English. The injustice of it all still lingers.

What’s a secret (or not-so-secret) talent you have?
I’m ambidextrous in an odd pattern. I write with my left hand, throw a baseball with my right, but throw a frisbee with my left. I’m equal on my feet for soccer.

If you could pick any superhero power, what would it be and why?
Storm’s weather control power so that I could make my drafty SF apartment a consistently balmy 72 degrees.

What’s your best credit/money tip?
Treat your credit card as a debit card.

  4. Hi Guys – what are your plans to increase the functionality of the transaction tracking and trending. Some of the graphs and pies are really nice, but it’s difficult to create renaming and categorization rules (like you can in Mint), plus searching, investments, budgeting etc are not there yet.

It’s been coming along so nicely though, sneaking in a bit of functionality here and there, it looks as though these things might be coming in the future. Any hints?

  7. Someone has doubled my credit card debt from $16,000 to $32,000. A second capital one account that has a zero balance is now showing a balance of $16,000. The other card that does have a $16,000 balance is being zeroed out with a Barclay 8.00% Ring MasterCard this week.
