What could be Alec Baldwin’s smartest thought yet?

Joining Capital One Venture Reward Card’s new Match My Miles Challenge, and getting consumers to think that it’s their next smartest move too.

Capital One, a Credit Karma partner, is rolling out the Match My Miles Challenge for their popular Venture Rewards Credit Card today, pledging to match up to 100,000 airlines miles of a consumer’s airline credit card from another issuer. Talk about raising the stakes.

The Match My Miles Challenge

The rewards program starts today and ends May 13, or until Capital One matches 1 billion miles for all consumers. It would takes 10,000 consumers maxing out their 100,000 mile match contribution for Capital One to hit the 1 billion mile mark; wonder how many consumers have that kind of airtime stockpiled on their plastic.

Capital One is certainly pulling out all the stops for the Match My Miles Challenge—including a celebrity endorsement from Mr. Alec Baldwin.

In the “Smart, Alec” commercial series, Baldwin rattles off a series of interesting, quirky facts in order to pull viewers to Capital One’s Facebook page for Baldwin’s “smartest thought yet.” Check out the video below.

Bold Moves In A Crowded Marketplace

Creative marketing strategies, like using Facebook as a social marketing tool, highlights what could be Capital One’s biggest Venture promotion yet.

It’s a bold move on the part of Capital One to offer to match another issuer’s rewards offers. But as the credit card marketplace gets overcrowded with competition, issuers will need bold moves to get above the noise. Like using Alec Baldwin as their mouthpiece.

If you’re considering getting the Venture Rewards Card, know the card’s terms and program details, such as the fine print of its bonus offers, annual fees, and its excellent credit score requirements. Credit Karma approval data reports the average credit score for approved applicants is 725.

What do you think, did Alec convince you to check out the Venture Rewards Card?

  1. The math is a bit off. 100,000 fits into 1 BILLION 10,000 times. 100 would be a 10 million point/mile cap.

  2. Whoops, desk calculator broken.
    Thanks, amending the post now.

  3. Why do you use such a controversial, rude, obnoxious, polarizing man to advertise and promote your product? He has alienated at least 1/2 of the population by his insults and comments and we have several friends who see the commercials and are very disappointed in your poor choice of spokesman. We will no longer be using our VISA cards. Sorry but Baldwin is a turn off.

  4. Bait and Switch. Wonder how many, like me, did not get their miles matched?

  5. Right here is the right web site for everyone who
hopes to find out about this topic. You understand
so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I personally
will need to…HaHa). You certainly put a fresh spin on a topic which has been discussed for years.
    Excellent stuff, just wonderful!
