The Nerds Behind Credit Karma: Andrew
Hi! Isn’t it crazy how fast a week goes by? It’s again that fun time of the week where we introduce you to a member of the Credit Karma team! Last week, we introduced you to Jason, one of our software engineers.
This week, we decided to interview Andrew, one of our web designers. Andrew is a super talented baker, often bringing in decadent treats like mini maple apple bacon cupcakes with maple bourbon cream cheese frosting (and yes, his baked goods are amazing as they sound). He also started “Tiesday” at the CK office, where participants show off their snazzy ties every Tuesday! So clever.

The Interview
What’s your title at Credit Karma?
I am a Junior Web Designer here at Credit Karma.
Describe in 25 words or less what you do.
I work with the Creative Director to design the site, emails, and mobile app. I also wear neckties every Tuesday.
How long have you worked at CK?
I’ve been working here for a little over a year and 4 months.
What’s your favorite thing about working at CK?
Aside from there being 2 other Andrew’s in the office, I love the people I work with and the fact that I am learning something new every day.
What’s your favorite snack in the CK kitchen?
Gummy Peach Rings.
What is something your coworkers probably don’t know about you?
During work, I sometimes listen to K-Pop (Korean pop music) even though I don’t know what they’re saying.
What was your worst subject in elementary school?
History because it’s just memorization of facts, and I’m not really good at that.
What’s a secret (or not-so-secret) talent you have?
I have an awesome dance move called the body roll.
If you could pick any superhero power, what would it be and why?
It would be super speed so I will NEVER be late for anything and have amazing legs from running, but I’d probably be super sweaty.
What’s your best credit/money tip?
Always remember to pay bills on time by setting up payment reminders on your calendar.
